Many people are understandably anxious about the future in a world coping with the existential threat of climate change. For some, this anxiety can become debilitating. • Join the Global CO2 Initiative Student Association.
    • Our mission is to build a diverse network of university students with tangible interest and involvement in the carbon removal community. Each facet of this student organization grapples with the task of getting carbon sequestration and utilization recognized and implemented as a mainstream climate solution, and shifting the sources of carbon for everyday living from fossil to non-fossil sources.
  • Sign up to help at the Global CO2 Initiative May workshop on May 21 – May 23, 2024.
    • We need student volunteers to help register participants, take notes, compile notes, make slides for zoom participants on the fly, move & set up equipment, etc. If you have some time available, contact krkattap@umich.edu for more information.

What ever actions you choose to do, remember that your actions matter. You may not be able to change the whole world by yourself, but you can still make a difference. And collectively, many people around the world are making a big difference, and that is evidence for hope.

As much as there are reasons to be anxious, fearful, or sad about climate change, there are similar reasons to feel empowered by meaningful trends and accomplishments that are changing for the better in real-time, and to feel prideful about our role in amplifying their effectiveness. Recognizing both our problems and solutions that are being accomplished is an essential feature of evidence-based hope.
