Thomas (Tom) Sheldon is the Chief Financial Officer of CO2 Sciences. Tom graduated magna cum laude from the University of Colorado with a degree in economics and received an MBA from the University of Michigan. Tom joined TRW Inc. in the first cohort of TRW’s Management Development Program. In his nearly two decades of working for TRW, Tom received a number of varied assignments including responsibility for TRW’s short-term debt and banking program and integration of a number of acquired businesses into the corporation. Tom was also responsible for managing a yearlong TRW program aimed at applying lean production practices to key corporate processes, and served as Finance Director for the first and only TRW product group headquartered outside of the United States.
After his TRW career, Tom spent a number of years as CFO of a group of privately held medical device companies. Tom went on to become the founding Chief Financial Officer of the National Science Foundation funded National Ecological Observatory Network, Inc., a non-profit organization, where he spent more than five years developing the business functions necessary to support construction and operation of the 110 site ecological observatory.
Tom also serves on the Board of Trustees and Executive Committee of the Keystone Policy Center, an independent, not-for-profit organization, bringing together public, private, and civic sector leaders who have diverse perspectives but share a common desire to find lasting solutions to significant policy problems.
Tom and his wife Diana live in Boulder, Colorado.
